About this site and how we research

Who runs this site

Limitless Alternative is operated by the team behind Legend Memory, which makes Legend One, an AI memory pendant. We run this site and two sister sites, plaudalternative.com and aimemorypendant.com. All three are static pages with no ads, no affiliate links and no sponsored placements.

Legend One is one of the replacements listed here. A site run by a maker that lists its own product has an obvious incentive to tilt the result, so this page says what we do about that.

How we research

Limitless facts

What happened to Limitless comes from Limitless's own site and developer pages, from Reuters and TechCrunch, and from its Help Center. We quote the company where we can. We separate what is documented from what is not, and the what happened page ends with a list of open questions.

Export and migration steps

The steps come from Limitless's developer documentation and help pages, Omi's help center and Hedy's migration guide. We do not have a Limitless account and have not run the export ourselves. The export guide says so at the top and asks you to follow the on-screen wording if it differs.

Prices and specs

Each comes from the maker's own page on the date shown. Where a maker does not state something, we say so rather than guess. We publish no scores, star ratings or quotes.

What we do about the conflict of interest

• Legend appears in the same tables as every other option.
• We print Legend's downsides: no audio playback, the highest recurring cost of the options, and no listed importer for Limitless data.
• We print other makers' strengths and link to their own pages.
• We keep links to Legend's own site to a minimum: its homepage, its product page, and one Archive post.
• We omit facts we cannot reconcile, such as Legend's warranty, which its own pages state differently.
• We do not print second-hand Limitless prices because we cannot source them.

That does not remove the bias. It makes it visible. For an independent verdict, use our tables for facts and an outside reviewer for opinion.

Why this site exists

When a product like the Limitless Pendant is discontinued, its owners and would-be buyers search for what to do next. The results are mostly roundups. We wanted a plain reference for the practical questions: what happened, how to save your data, and what is still for sale, with sources for each. We also wanted a place to describe Legend One in that context.

How we decide what to include

A device is listed as an alternative if a maker currently sells it, it turns speech into text or summaries, and a former Limitless owner or would-be buyer could plausibly weigh it. That brings in pendants, clips, cards and wristbands. Smart glasses, phone apps and meeting bots are different categories and are not covered. Friend is named only to exclude it.

How we handle disagreements between sources

When a maker's page and a news report disagree, we prefer the maker's page for current price and specs and the news report for events. When two pages from the same maker disagree, we leave the value out and say why. Legend Memory's warranty is the example. When a number looks like marketing, we attribute it to the maker. We have not tested any device in a lab.

What we would like you to check yourself

• Prices at checkout. Every price here is a snapshot with a date.
• The current Limitless help pages. Support terms and export screens can change.
• The privacy policy of any device you plan to wear around other people.

Corrections and updates

The Limitless situation is still moving. Every page shows its last update date, and the sitemap carries the same date. If you find a claim that is wrong, out of date or not backed by the source we cite, tell us and we will fix it or remove it. A claim we cannot source is removed, not softened. We would rather publish a shorter page that is right than a longer page with guesses in it.

Who this site is for

The main readers are people who own a Limitless Pendant and want to protect their data, and people who saw a Limitless recommendation in an older article and want to know what to buy now. We have written for both, and for readers who arrived from a search and know nothing about the company. That is why the pages define terms such as "lifelog" and "export" on first use, and why we quote the company directly instead of paraphrasing it.
