What to buy instead of a Limitless Pendant

Match the job you had with Limitless

People bought a Limitless Pendant for a few different reasons: always-on capture, a clip they could forget about, or a low price of $99. Each reason points to a different replacement. There is no like-for-like successor. Below, each option is described with prices and specs copied from the maker's page on September 29, 2026.

If you want always-on capture in a pendant

Omi is the closest in spirit. It is an open-source pendant worn on a cord, clip or wristband, listed at $129 (normally $179) with a free plan and no subscription required. Omi lists 10 to 14 hours of battery, 25+ languages, recording online or offline, and integrations with more than 1,000 apps. Omi's own help center documents connecting a Limitless Pendant to the Omi app, which is unusual and worth knowing if you already own one.

Legend One is a chest-worn pendant, and the operator of this site makes it, so weigh our words accordingly. Legend Memory says it transcribes on the device, never creates an audio file, and shows a Halo light while it transcribes. It has three microphones, lists more than 150 languages, iOS and Android apps, a battery of up to 2 days continuous and 5 days standby, and USB-C charging in about 2 hours. It costs $499 including the first year of membership and $499 per year after, which Legend Memory states as $1,497 over three years. It has no playback by design. See Legend One.

Bee Pioneer is a $49.99 wristband sold in the US that works with iOS only, with dual microphones and a listed battery of up to 7 days. Bee's site lists no subscription price. Amazon confirmed in July 2025 that it planned to acquire Bee.

If you want a device you press when it matters

Plaud is the market leader. Its Note, Note Pro, NotePin and NotePin S are listed at $159 to $189. Every device includes 300 free transcription minutes a month, and Plaud lists paid plans at $8.33 and $19.99 per month billed annually. Plaud said in June 2026 that it had sold more than 2 million devices.

Pocket is $139 as listed, with a side button, a MagSafe mount, 64GB of storage and a free plan with unlimited standard-accuracy transcription.

SwitchBot AI MindClip is $119.99, weighs 16.8 grams, lists up to 20 hours of recording and 64GB, and includes 300 free minutes a month plus a three-month Pro trial for new users.

soundcore Work from Anker is $159, coin-sized, with dual microphones, IPX4 water resistance and encrypted local storage by default.

Not a replacement

Friend is a companion pendant that talks back and costs $249 in its 2.0 version. It is not a notes or memory tool.

Who should not switch yet

If your Pendant works, your data is exported and you are content with the free plan through 2026, you do not have to move today. The company committed to support through 2026, and the market is moving quickly, so waiting a few months could give you more options. What you should not do is wait until the last month with an unexported archive. A sensible plan is to export now, test one replacement for a couple of weeks inside its return window, and then decide.

Three questions before you pick

Do you want to keep audio? Limitless kept it. Omi, Plaud and Pocket keep it in different ways. Legend does not create audio. If you liked replaying moments, Legend will feel like a loss. If you disliked having an archive, it may feel like a relief.

How much do you want to pay each year? Free plans exist at Omi and Pocket. Plaud, SwitchBot and soundcore start free and charge for volume. Legend is $499 per year after the first. Limitless customers got used to a free plan, so the step to a paid plan is real for most of these options.

How will you wear it? A Limitless Pendant could be clipped or worn on a cord. Omi and Legend are pendants, Pocket and soundcore attach to a phone or clip, and Bee is a wristband. Try the form during the return window. Plaud, Pocket, SwitchBot and Legend all list 30-day returns.
